# Made for Mediocrity?

As a leader, you’ll often discover two paths that lead to two different, yet similar destinations. Although these two paths will take you in opposite directions, they both can lead you to a feeling of satisfaction.

One path is where you choose to raise your expectations. The destination for this option is called “Goals”. A cold a beer at the end of this journey tastes great, but it’s often enjoyed alone.

The other path is where you choose to lower your standards. The destination for this option is called “Good Enough”. A cold beer at the end of this journey is less filling, just like your effort. It’s average at best, but at least you’ll be drinking with a crowd.

The first one comes with hard work and sacrifice. The second one comes with excuses and justifications.

Ironically, both of them can bring you satisfaction. One because you sought to go further than you ever imagined, and the other because you believed you were already there.
